Dog Play Partner Research

Looking for partnerships that would work well with my idea. I did some research into what other dog owners fed their dogs to see if there was any common dog food brands I could partner with.

The first article I found was talking about the high prices of dog food, especially for larger dogs and thats only for dry food, wet food is way more expensive. http://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/christchurch-life/eat-and-drink/girl-meets-food/11366376/Dog-food-doesn-t-come-cheap. The writer ended up buying food from the Arcana brand.

http://www.stuff.co.nz/auckland/local-news/auckland-city-harbour-news/10547911/Raw-facts-on-pet-food. This article talks about the fact that supermarket brands, more expensive brands and even raw foods don't have much of an effect the health of a pet, how glossy their coat is or anything. So I have decided to stick with a lower cost brand of dog food, one that is known to most if not all dog owners and is recognisable.

My choices are between;

  • Purina - $39 for 20kgs - usually associated with having a range of products
  • Pedigree - $80 for 20kgs - usually associated top quality and taking the best care
I have decided to go with Pedigree for my partnering company for my product.
